Little Explorers activities

We provide a wealth of enriching and inspirational experiences, along with an environment conducive to learning and innovative teaching methods. We work through and beyond the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

Our child-centred approach and outdoor-focused curriculum empower us to guide each child individually through various activities.

These include mark-making to foster fine motor skills, numerical exploration, jolly phonics, singing and rhyming during our woodland walks and day trips, and plenty of story time.

You can get a sense of our daily outdoor-focused activities from these videos and photos. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up-to-date with our latest activities.

Sevenoaks Knole Park Day Trip

Our Little explorers were ecstatic to see real life Bambi. We adventured for so long and saw so much wildlife! After our long sunny adventure we headed to the library and museum, looked at some artefacts and artwork before settling down to read some stories before home time! It was such a fun day.

Teddy Bear Picnic

Each little explorer brought their favorite teddy and book to take on our picnic! Our little explorers (and, of course, their teddies) all enjoyed a special treat while we read their favorite stories. We talked about why each book and teddy was their favorite, as well as what they liked about each of their friends’ items.  Then, we hopped on a mini steam train for a thrilling ride  and enjoyed ice cream to cool down before heading to the library!

Building A Den

We took part in building a den in the woods! We found lots of branches, big and small, and put them together to create a cozy den! After lunch, we ventured down to forest school, where we used our imaginations to create all sorts of games.

A Typical Busy Day

We had a surprise arrival of baby runner ducks! They were so cute, our Little Explorers loved holding them and learning how to look after them! We then adventured into the woods for a MiniBeast hunt! Our day included lots of climbing, jumping and balancing, as well as being creative and imaginative with our friends within our outdoor environment.

Our Fun Boat Trip

We adventured out on the river in a big white boat and we absolutely loved it! We saw so many different animals, boats, plants and people throughout our journey! We discussed what animals live in and on the river as well as how to keep ourselves safe around deep water!
