Founded by passionate ex Fosse Bank Early Year staff following the unfortunate closure of Fosse Bank, Little Explorers is a place for young minds to embark on a journey of discovery, curiosity, and joy. We believe in the transformative power of the great outdoors and are dedicated to creating a stimulating environment where children can flourish, learn about nature, and have endless fun.
At Little Explorers, we recognise that outdoor learning is the key to unlocking a child’s full potential. Our mission is to provide a nurturing space that fosters a love for nature and ignites young imaginations. Every day, we embark on exciting adventures, embracing the wonders of the world around us. Our carefully crafted daily programs include visits to National Trusts, engaging theme-based workshops, thrilling train trips to the library, camping escapades in the park, delightful visits to farmer markets, and invigorating forest schools.
We celebrate the uniqueness of each child and strive to ensure that every moment at Little Explorers is enjoyable and positive for all the children in our care. Our experienced team is dedicated to nurturing your child’s individuality, fostering a sense of wonder, and encouraging their natural curiosity. With a remarkable 1 to 3 staff ratios across different ages, we ensure that every child receives the best possible care and attention, fostering a strong sense of security and trust.
At Little Explorers, we welcome children from the age of 2, and we are proud to accept funding, making our enriching experience accessible to all families. Our unrivalled space is specially designed to inspire exploration, development, and growth in a safe and secure environment.

Welcome to Little Explorers! I’m Ms. Jenny Matthews, the passionate founder of this wonderful venture dedicated to nurturing young minds through outdoor activities.
After spending 7 fulfilling years at Fosse Bank’s early years, I embarked on a journey to create an environment where children could flourish through the wonders of nature. Little Explorers was born from my belief that outdoor activities are the best way to foster creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning in young ones.
With over 17 years of experience in early years education, I have honed my skills and developed a profound understanding of how to inspire and engage children during their formative years. Little Explorers is more than just a preschool; it’s a place where imagination knows no bounds, and little adventurers can discover the world around them.
At Little Explorers, we offer a unique blend of play-based learning and hands-on experiences in nature. We believe that by providing a safe and stimulating outdoor environment, children can develop not only their cognitive abilities but also their social and emotional skills.

Greetings! I’m Miss Aimee Marshall, an enthusiastic early years educator with a deep love for nurturing young minds. With over 2 years of experience in early years education, I have dedicated myself to fostering a positive and enriching learning environment for children.
Having spent 2 wonderful years as part of Fosse Bank’s early year team, I gained valuable insights and honed my skills in guiding children through their crucial early developmental stages. It was during this time that my passion for early years education truly blossomed.
I believe that early childhood is a critical phase for shaping a child’s future, and I am committed to providing them with the best possible start in their educational journey. Through play-based learning and interactive activities, I aim to create a space where children can explore, learn, and grow with joy and curiosity.
